E-book Sales Triple While Paper Books Go the Way of the 8-Track

For those of you that even remember what the hell an 8-track is you may be remembering paper books in much the same way within the next 10 years.

While e-book sales more than tripled over the past year paper books and magazines declined by almost 25% across the board.

Year-to-date 2011 vs YTD 2010: E-Books increased by 169.4% while all categories combined of print Trade books declined by 24.8%

How many of you still buy paper books/magazines and how many of you have switched to digital only copies of your favorite reading materials?

  1. I have a NOOK and have actually read more books in the last year then I ever did with paper editions. Good stuff. Now if we could just get schools to switch from spendy text books to less spendy Epub editions w/ a small transfer license? ahh.. the savings.
