Google is Giving Away Free WiFi to People Flying for the Holidays

If you’re planning on flying to visit relatives or just get the hell out of town for the holidays and you happen to be flying on AirTran Airways, Delta or Virgin America you’ll be able to access free WiFi thanks to Google.

This holiday season, Google Chrome has teamed up with AirTran Airways, Delta, and Virgin America to offer free Gogo Inflight Wi-Fi on every domestic flight from November 20, 2010 through January 2, 2011. These participating airlines have outfitted their entire domestic fleet with Gogo Inflight Wi-Fi, and we expect more connected passengers this holiday season than ever before!

Just bring a Wi-Fi enabled laptop or mobile device and stay connected to family and friends while you travel.

It’s pretty easy to imagine that if this promotion is successful and Google can figure out a way to sell ads on the sign-in page when you login to the WiFi we may see this promotion not only continued but hopefully expanded to other airlines.
