Inaugural Words: 1789 to the Present


The New York Times put together a word tag cloud of every inaugural speech from 1789 to the present.  It’s pretty fascinating to scroll through and see a snapshot of that time in American history based on the Presidential inauguration speech of that time.  For instance, the most used word in Lincoln’s second Inaugural address was by far “war” in contrast to his first address which focused on the “Constitution”.
